As Steve Wynn stated at the beginning of the night, this show would end up being Danny & Dusty's entire 2008 U.S. tour crammed into one wild show at the Bowery Ballroom. This was their first U.S. show since 1986 and there are currently no plans for any other appearances. This was also the first time Danny & Dusty used a dual drummer lineup, which is a sight to see (as well as hear).
One of the night's surprises was Johnny Hott's six year old daughter Odessa, who danced away on stage in her red vinyl go-go boots for most of the show. The funniest moment came right before "JD's Blues". As Dan Stuart made the switch from acoustic to electric guitar, an impatient Chris Cacavas says "Let's start
this motherf**ker!". An angry Odessa then glared a Cacavas in disaprovement! Despite having limited rehearsal time the band was tight enough to pull off many exhilarating musical moments, while remaining just ragged enough to be Danny & Dusty. Let's hope we don't have to wait another 20 years for their return...
